Grace approached with three glasses of wine which she struggled to balance in her hands. Miracle, seeing her, went to her with the intention of helping her with two of the glasses. “Hey, can I have a minute with you?” He said with a low voice as he collected the glasses of wine from her. “Thanks” Grace said, she tried not to look into his eyes while replying, avoiding being trapped in his charming eyes again. “I..errr..I’m sorry, my mistress needs the drink now” she said, looking elsewhere as she made her way to princess Judith, Miracle following. They both sat down and princess Judith continued engaging Miracle in her conversations. After a while, she noticed the King signaling to her from a distance, “Er….I think we need to leave now, Grace…..” she said as they bid farewell to Miracle and made their way out of the hall and to the car. Very early the next morning, they got to the palace. Princess Judith went straight to her room to rest as she dismissed Grace. Later in the day, as Grace was approaching the quarters of princess Judith, she was puzzled as she met ten ladies, dressed in a uniform of multicolored robes standing in two rows at the entrance of the princess’s quarters. She went in and found the princess still sleeping. When princess Judith noticed someone’s presence, she woke up. “Err…..Good morning Your Highness” Grace said and she went to prepare the princess for her bath. After bath, the princess got dressed, with her fancy little crown carefully inserted in her well styled hair. Grace arranged for the princess’s food. Right after the princess finished her breakfast, she decided to go to the garden as she always loved to do. They both stepped out of the room, when they got to the entrance of the quarters, she was surprised to see the attendants standing in two rows. They bowed and greeted her in their culture, she then looked at Grace who kept laughing. “Wha…..what’s all these? Wait…..you must have seen them when you came in. Why didn’t you say anything?” she asked Grace who then replied “I’m sure His Majesty wanted to surprise you with it by not informing you, so if I had told you, I would have spoilt the fun” “Oh come on” the princess said, overwhelmed. She greeted the attendants and went around observing them. She wanted to make sure they looked great, to her taste. She noticed the uniform hairpin in their hair, the uniform hair style and the footwears. She nodded as she finished observing. They set out for the garden and the attendants followed them, leaving a space of ten meters. When they got to the garden, they kept gisting about the initiation ceremony. They talked about the crowd, the kings and queens present there and their dressings. They talked about the initiation rites and how nervous the princess was during the rites and her crowning. Then, they remembered Miracle, the handsome young man that caught their attention. The princess swinged her body around in a romantic style praising the beauty of the young man. “His eyes got me lost in a moment. I’ve never seen such beauty” she said. Grace kept smiling and swallowing her own comments as she did not want to remember the heart lifting gaze of Miracle when they bumped into each other. “You know…I had a very sweet dream…about Miracle. He really is a miracle. He showered me with his graceful smiles till I woke up” princess Judith said. “Are you serious?” Grace said, laughing. “Yea…..he had this elegant smile throughout…. His blue eyeballs…urrgh…” princess Judith said. They kept talking about him. He had told them he was a minister’s son, the Minister of finance in her land. Princess Judith was not surprised she never met him even though she often saw his father, because she had learnt that the Minister of finance had a son studying abroad. And now fate just brought them together – she thought. My Dream (Vol 1) By Fapohunda Bolanle Busola Chapter 6 Grace approached with three glasses of wine which she struggled to balance in her hands.
